Fashion designer Ziad Ghanem presented a spectacular collection full of creativity, eccentricism and theatricality at the Freemason’s Hall in Covent Garden.

Ghanem’s collection is entitled ‘Never End, Never End, Never End’ and takes inspiration from the horror video game “Silent Hill”, the work of painter John-Henry Fuseli and the movie “Black Swan”.

Pringle of Scotland at London Fashion Week presented an autumnal and rich in colour collection with plenty of handknits, fairisle prints, jacquard and leather. This year Claire Waight Keller really proved that Pringle of Scotland has been transformed from just a knitwear label into a luxury ready-to-wear brand. Pringle of Scotland can be summed up as “classic” bringing back the sixties and seventies into 2011. The range included soft flared trousers, vintage knot jacquards, skirts and dresses entirely in the seventies vintage colours.

Holly Fulton – London Fashion Week – Autumn Winter 2011

Holly Fulton at London Fashion Week presented her AW11 runway show in style at Somerset House with colour everywhere. It can even pass for being a spring like than an autumn range. The attendees included Daphne Guinness, Samantha Cameron and Hilary Alexander at the BFC Show Space and the show itself gave a hint of a theatrical atmosphere. The collection included neon yellow geo-tastic shift dresses, black and white futuristic prints and fluffy pom pom skirts. The inspiration of Holly Fulton AW11 collection has been from the power of seduction, love and romance (cheesy?)

David Koma at London Fashion Week AW11 continued his reputation for dramatic shapes that have caused media stirs in the past, however for AW11 he has been further inspired by avante-garde art and repetitive patterns by the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. Blacks, greys and nudes were visible in the collection mostly in leather. No wonder his previous collection has been a huge success at Topshop.

Samantha Cole is a graduate from the London College of Fashion and also has experience working in the design room at Burberry. The Samantha Cole Salon Show held at the Vauxhall Fashion Scout showcased a heavy range of the colour black, mixed with a strong use of leather, knits and sued made from materials used for making space astronaut’s uniforms. The Samantha Cole woman explained by Cole “is strong, independent and confident, most of all someone who is not afraid to wear a different style garment without feeling overwhelmed.”
